quit measuring already

Some people choose to fritter their time away with Facebook, and others, like me and a few million others worldwide, have chosen to waste countless nighttime hours roleplaying on World of Warcraft. Mine is the make-believe life of Sammus, named after my youngest boy Sammy. Sammus is outfitted here with his Acrobatic Staff of Frozen Wrath, capable of inflicting serious damage...for a fancy stick anyway.

In the real world, this is Sammy on a sunny July Wednesday afternoon out on a fishing trip with the family, including grandma and grandpa. He is equipped here with the Zebco Staff of Water Wasteland, capable of inflicting SERIOUS damage to unsuspecting weedmonsters within 20 metres.

Did my poke at you force you out of your shell or am I completely irrelevant? :) Have you seen the South Park episode that 'incorporates' World of Warcraft? I know, SP is not everyone's cup of tea, especially if they have small kiddies. When mine were little I even shielded them from the Simpsons. No idea why because it's a family favourite now!

Go Sammy go. Your father's fantasy life depends on it!

Good to see you back.

That's a wonderful photograph! If I saw a painting that looked like that photo, I would have it hanging on my wall.

Andy,
It's good to be back. I can't say for sure how long though. Bit of a posting slump lately. The real world sure has been a lot of fun. School teachers really do have it good when it comes to time off work. I will never be money rich, but I sure will be well holidayed. I'm happy you're still around.

Andrea,
No you're not irrelevant, and YES you are a pest. A good pest. You, Joyce, Donn and Alice haven't let me forget about my posting duties.
I never watch SP but Simpsons is a family favourite of ours as well...well, not Joyce...she has a hate/love relationship with that show...mostly hate when it comes to our kids watching it.

Anna,
It is good, isn't it?! As soon as we looked at it, Joyce and I both commented how wonderful it was. It was a really great day in the sun. No fish, though. Sammy and I found a good spot by the Red river yesterday, just 5km from our house. We'll be trying that place out later today.

Glad to hear you've got a good excuse! Blogging can be a lot of fun but (a) it takes a lot of effort to keep going (witness mine, which is barely struggling along these days) and (b) something worthwhile in the real world beats blogging hands down. Sounds like you have a good helping of really worthwhile stuff!

World of Warcrack!? Jumpin' Jehosophat is that your excuse.
Dawg what up with puttin' down Facebook?

It's a breeze! You just comment and people WANT to be your friend? You don't have to impress or distress them with some fancy schmancy blog..
nope, nope, nope...
it's just free inane banter, widgets, and pictures of the kids and the cat's boil. Suh-weet!

Just kidding.
If you read my post you will know that I just want to be included in one group and then I am outtie! Maybe not now that Andrea Pratt is now my Facebook friend.
neener, neener, nee-ner!

You had better explain the psychology behind your new addiction to role playing games.. mind you it is awesome to screensuck and sit in your gitch for 18 consequtive hours.

Do the kids just bring you your meals now? Hopefully one of them will bring out the dustbuster and get the crumbs out of your beard and shoulder length hair.
